The Neurological Society of India is the apex body representing neuroscientists
in India. Since its inception, the Society has been involved in organising seminars
and conferences to initiate interaction between practicing neurologists and keeping
the neuroscientist community up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.
The Society also conducts a continuing medical education programme, the first of
its kind to be introduced in India.
Members of the Society
A full time worker in Neurology, Neurosurgery or its allied disciplines can apply
for direct enrolment as a Life Member of the Society, but the membership will be
granted only during the Annual Conference of the Society, which in held in the third
week of December.
Only Full Members (who have no outstanding dues to the Society) or Life Members
are eligible for proposing and seconding the application for grant of Full Membership.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AND SENIOR HONORED MEMBERSHIP AWARDS
Awards would be presented during the Inaugural function of the Annual Conference
to Life Members above the age of 75 years who have played a significant role in
the development of Neurosciences in India and there shall be not more than 3 awards
each year. Nominations should be sent in the prescribed format to the Secretary
before 31st October to be considered and approved by Executive Committee.
FORMATION OF NSI ARBITRATION COMMITTEE
Arbitration committee has been duly constituted (2012 – 2016):

• Dr K Ganapathy – Member
• Mr Devendra Vajpayee – Senior Advocate – Member
The committee can be approached by any member of the society regarding any grievances
of bonafide members regarding society matters.
This empowered committee shall have jurisdiction over all matters of grievances
of members regarding society matters. The decision of the arbitration committee
shall be final.
The committee will meet personally or electronically and shall give its verdict
at the earliest unanimously or by majority. The ruling of the committee shall be
binding.
